Meeting People Where They Are
ASAC stays connected to the community beyond the walls of our facilities. Our outreach services meet people where they are through:
- Care navigation and counseling
- Engagement with people experiencing homelessness
- Our Safe Opioid Services (SOS) program
- NARCAN training and disbursement
With this proactive approach, we can link potential patients to substance use treatment at ASAC. Bringing these services directly to neighborhoods increases accessibility throughout Eastern Iowa.
As a certified NARCAN distributor, we provide FREE training and doses to the public at events and any of our locations.
Our Safe Opioid Services (SOS) program SOS brings ASAC staff into the community through a mobile unit, engaging with individuals we serve across our service area.
Outreach is about more than simply getting out in the community; it’s connecting with people on a one-on-one basis and doing the work that saves lives.
