Empowering People to Overcome Substance Use & Problem Gambling
As the area’s leading provider of substance use disorder services, ASAC has 14 locations in seven counties across Eastern Iowa, and we accept patients from anywhere in the state. We help adolescents, adults, and families overcome substance use disorders and problem gambling. We’re connected to the community, offering substance use prevention programs through outreach to schools, workplaces, and neighborhoods. We also provide specific services and resources to women with children.
Substance use disorders and problem gambling don’t discriminate, so neither do we. ASAC is a safe space for all—including underserved populations and members of the LGBTQ+ community—on their road to recovery.

Substance Use Disorders
A substance use disorder (SUD) is a treatable mental health disorder that impacts an individual’s brain and behavior, resulting in their inability to regulate the consumption of legal or illicit substances, including drugs, alcohol, or medications. Through our assessment process, we can determine the right course of treatment and chart a path toward recovery.
Evaluations
ASAC conducts a substance use assessment—what many refer to as a substance abuse evaluation—to determine if substance use treatment is needed and advise which path is best. This recommendation includes tailored services to develop the most appropriate and cost-effective plan for you.
